Prescription Drug Take Back Day This Month

Kearney-Holt CAN reminds you that while you’re spring cleaning, don’t forget to get rid of your unwanted, unused, and expired medications.

Keeping them out of the house entirely will protect kids and teens from accidental poisonings and can even prevent addiction. Empty these medications into a sealable bag with something gross, like used coffee grounds or kitty litter, and dispose of it in your household trash. Don’t flush medicine because this helps keep our water supply clean too.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April, 22. There is a medication drop box is at Kearney Police Department or CVS Pharmacy.

The Kearney-Holt CAN is a coalition of volunteers collaborating to reduce youth substance use, promote mental health, and build resilience in our youth and community. The next meeting is Thursday April 13, at the Kearney Public Library, 4 pm For questions, email Marlo@16acres.net or call 816-215-7858.
