MoDOT to Close 92 Highway to Continue Project

The next phase of the 92 Highway widening and safety improvement project is scheduled to begin this month. MoDOT will begin working on the roadway on Tuesday, March 29.

Both lanes of traffic on Missouri 92 Highway will be closed for road construction. The section of road work runs from C Highway to Plattsburg Road and is a 24/7 road closure to thru traffic.

Barricades will be placed on the roadway before March 29 to prepare for the work. This is all part of a multi-phase road widening and safety improvement project. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT spokesperson Markl Johnson says this section of the project is a combination of phases 4 and 5. Phases 1 and 6 are now complete. Turn lanes will be added at Route C (westbound right turn lane and eastbound left turn lane) and Route A (eastbound right turn lane).

“Work is going to start on March 29,” said Johnson. “This particular work is going end to May 26. MoDOT will be working on the entire stretch from Mt. Olivet Road to Plattsburg Road during this construction season, and likely into next season also.”

MoDOT will post detour signs on state routes in the coming days
