Companies Seeking Employees Despite Unemployment Rate

Missouri’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased by one-tenth of a percentage point in February 2022, declining to 3.7 percent from the revised January 2022 rate of 3.8 percent. The February 2022 rate was 1.2 percentage points lower than the February 2021 rate. The estimated number of unemployed Missourians was 114,174 in February 2022, down by 3,870 from January’s 118,044. 

The national unemployment rate decreased from 4.0 percent in January 2022 to 3.8 percent in February 2022. Missouri’s unemployment rate has been at or below the national rate for the last five years.

The second annual Hiring Fair will be held at the Kearney United Methodist Church at 1000 E 92 Highway on Wednesday, March 30. It is free and open to the public from 2:30 – 6:00 pm. Professionals of all levels are highly encouraged to attend and participate.

This hiring fair is a great resource for students and adults to connect with over 35 employers who are actively seeking quality people looking for employment.
