At approximately 11 am, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced that I-35 is temporarily closed at PP Highway (Exit 33) in Holt. Multiple crashes and slide-offs have been reported between Exit 33 and Kearney and visibility is very low with blowing snow.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office announced that the Cameron Police Department is closing I-35 southbound at the 48 mile marker, and diverting traffic onto US Highway 69 beginning at about 11 am.

Clinton County also advised that I-35 is currently closed at mile marker 40 due to multiple vehicle accidents from that location to Clay County.

MoDOT reports that all roads and bridges are 100% covered at this hour, and advises people to stay at home to give their snow plow drivers time to clear the roads.

Motorists can get road condition updates on the Traveler Information Map at www.modot.org, or through MoDOT’s smartphone app, available for iPhone and Android phones. You can also find road conditions and warnings by following MoDOT on Facebook and Twitter.
