Bulldogs Selected for All Simone Team

Two Kearney High School football players are being recognized as among the very best in the Kansas City region.

Zach Grace and Carter Schmidt have both been selected for the 2022 All Simone Team. The selections were made today during a special event at Park Hill High School in conjunction with the Thomas A. Simone Memorial Football Award.

All Simone Team members are selected by a vote of the high school football coaches and select media members in the metropolitan area. This honor is given to the football players who are most representative of excellence on the playing field.

“I’m proud of Zach and Carter for earning this recognition,” KHS Football Head Coach Logan Minnick said. “They embody the hard work, grit and selfless attitude that define what it means to be a Bulldog.”

The honor was established as a tribute to Tommy Simone, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Simone, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident in April 1983. Team members symbolize the qualities of love, courage and friendship – qualities young Tommy so aptly displayed.

Mr. Grace is a senior running back, tight end and quarterback. Mr. Schmidt is a senior offensive lineman.

KHS Football team’s 2022 season was one of its best in several years. In his first season with KHS, Coach Minnick led the Bulldogs to 10-1 record that included a Conference Championship.
