Chiefs Parade Wednesday

Super Bowl LVIII Champions Kansas City Chiefs are back in town and it’s time for the victory parade and rally. Kansas City leaders have scheduled the festivities for 11am Wednesday.

The parade route will start at 6th Street and Grand Boulevard, and the Chiefs will head south on Grand toward Union Station. The Parade will travel down Grand Boulevard toward Union Station with the rally to follow

The rally will follow the parade and is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:45 pm in front of Union Station.

Several roads will be closed, starting as early as Monday, as crews start preparing for the parade and rally. Pershing Road, from Main Street to Kessler Road, will be closed beginning Monday as part of preps at Union Station for the rally.

There will also be road closures along the parade route will starting at 11 am Tuesday. Streets east and west of Grand Boulevard will be closed between Walnut & McGee from 6th Street on the north to Pershing Road on the south.

Main Street, from 20th Street to Pershing Road, will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians on Wednesday. Main Street from Pershing to 27th will be closed to vehicles but open to pedestrians. There will be additional closures on Main Street from 27th to 31st streets when the parade starts.

There will be parking restrictions along the parade route that go into effect at 11 am. Tuesday, when the parade route closes to traffic, and continue until Wednesday night.

Cars parked in temporary no parking zones will be towed at the owner’s expense, according to the city. Drivers also should not park on the interstate and will be towed if they do.

The Kearney School District declared Wednesday to be a “Red Snow Day” so students, faculty, and staff will be able to attend the parade.
