Kearney Launches New Public Engagement Platform

The City of Kearney is excited to announce its partnership with Polco, an innovative online engagement platform that lets community members provide direct input to the local decision-making process regarding the policies and programs that are put in place.

Polco allows city officials to post questions directly to residents on Polco’s app and website, where participants can answer and comment on the issues. Polco makes public participation easier for residents to get involved, so more voices are heard!

The City of Kearney invites the public’s insight through the National Community Survey. Specifically, the city wants to know residents’ feelings about their community life and municipal government.

“This survey will help the City of Kearney prioritize resources to better provide services and projects within the city.” said Mayor Randy Pogue.

The City of Kearney looks forward to continuing to use this platform to ask follow up questions and engage with the public on resident satisfaction, current issues, new policies, initiatives, and community programs.

City Administrator, Sheila Ernzen said, “Polco will allow city staff to benchmark resident satisfaction with the services the city provides and use that feedback to allow us to make improvements and better serve the community.”

To get involved, residents can go to polco.us/kearney23op. Once they have answered the survey questions, residents provide their email address and ZIP code. This ensures the city only hears from each person once. It also collects information on the general area where respondents live.

Residents who provide this information will also be able to receive notifications of any future survey or polling efforts the City of Kearney decides to conduct. Responses are anonymous, and personal information is securely stored on Polco. The survey is open to residents through July 19.
