Street Maintenance Projects Kick Off

The city of Kearney is ready to kick off its 2023 street maintenance projects beginning the week of May 15.

The city contracted with Phillips Paving Co., Inc. and Pavement Management, LLC. for more than $352,000 of street maintenance projects on April 17, after receiving bids.

Pavement Management will be slurry sealing 13,172 square yards of roadway in the subdivision at 144th Street and Jesse James Farm Road and on a road in the Cedarwood subdivision for a total of $50,715. Phillips Paving Company will be making 1,763 square yards of patch repairs and overlaying 9,269 square yards of 2" asphalt for a total of $235,672. This work will be on Major and Main Streets as well as Southbrook Parkway and others.

Phillips Paving Company will also be replacing in several places around :

  • 635 linear feet of curb at a cost of $47,212

  • 39 square yards of concrete cut & patch at a cost of $5,657

  • 932 square feet of sidewalk replacement at a cost of $10,345

  • 3 ADA Ramps at a cost of $2,850
