KPGZ Releases New Radio App

102.7FM KPGZ announced a new way for listeners to find the radio station’s music and information – through the new KPGZ Radio mobile app. The Station began the roll-out of the mobile app at their Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, February 23.

Since moving to Kearney in 2016, 102.7FM has utilized third-party streaming services like TuneIn and MyTuner Radio apps to stream their daily broadcasts to listeners. However, third-party apps limited the radio station’s capabilities to simply the radio stream.

“The new KPGZ Radio app brings more than just music to our listeners,” General Manager Brian Watts said. “This app also has the ability to bring local weather, KPGZ eNews, our show schedule, and more to our consumers.”

In addition to news and weather, the app also allows visitors to access the station’s video content via the KMO-TV section. KMO-TV contains a catalog of shows such as Kearney Live, and the Coach Minnick Show. Viewers can also watch interviews, Chamber of Commerce ribbon cuttings, features, sponsor ads, and more.

The KPGZ Radio app also features a podcast section where app users can access audio files of Kearney Live as well as game replays of football and basketball broadcasts.

“The KPGZ Radio app is designed to be an all-in-one source for our radio listeners,” said Watts. “People can access the on-air broadcast as well as our news and information, past broadcasts and videos, and even sponsor messages with click-through banner ads. It’s a one-stop resource for our listeners and sponsors.”

The KPGZ Radio app is free and available for download at the App Store and Google Play Store. It works on mobile phones and tablets and can be used in vehicles through the device’s Bluetooth system.
