Tracking Available for Mailed Ballots

The Clay County Board of Election Commissioners announced that residents who vote absentee by mail will be able to track their ballots to make sure their vote is received by the Election Board Office.

Starting with the April 4 election, all mailed absentee ballots will have a tear off receipt that will have a QR code and a website address with a PIN that will let voters to see when their ballot has been received by the Election Board. A link will also be available on the Election Board website under the Absentee Voting Information tab.

The Election Board will also have the ability to track voters' ballots from the first drop to the voter’s local post office. Each ballot's envelope is printed with a unique intelligent mail barcode that delivers complete visibility with respect to the ballot's location and status, while the vote inside remains confidential.

The Election Board adds another layer of transparency to voters by offering confirmation of the receipt of each ballot that is received by the Board Office.
