Kearney Kindergarten Enrollment Now Open

Kearney School District’s kindergarten enrollment is now open for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Children who will be age five on or before July 31, 2023, are now qualified to be enrolled in kindergarten. Parents/guardians can start the kindergarten enrollment process by visiting www.ksdr1.net/registrationgateway. They will then schedule a kindergarten screening appointment for your child after the kindergarten enrollment process is completed.

“We’re excited to welcome the class of 2036 to Kearney School District,” Elementary Curriculum Coordinator Ali Stewart said. “It’s important that we get as many of our qualified children enrolled in kindergarten as soon as possible so that we can help ensure that those students and their families are ready to thrive when classes start this fall.”

Parents/guardians will be required to provide a birth certificate, a record of required immunizations, and a proof of residence for their children during kindergarten enrollment. They may use the online district boundary map on our website to locate the elementary school that their children will attend.

After completing the enrollment process, parents/guardians will schedule a kindergarten screening.  Parent Educators screen to help KSD plan for classes and needs for each incoming kindergarten class.  Parent Educators will also provide at-home activities and information about summer programs as well as answer any questions parents/guardians may have.

KSD’s elementary schools will host Kindergarten Orientations on March 28 this year. Kindergarten Orientation is an opportunity for families to receive helpful information about KSD, tour their school and meet their child’s teachers and building principal. We will provide families with more details as they are finalized.

More details about the kindergarten enrollment process are available on the KSD website at bit.ly/ksdclassof36.
