Voters Now Required to Show Photo ID

The Clay County Election Board wants to remind residents that they will be asked to show a photo ID to vote in the election this November. The new Missouri photo ID law became effective on August 28.

Voters can show any of these non-expired, government-issued photo ID options: Missouri driver license, U.S. passport, Missouri non-driver license, military ID, other photo ID issued by the United States or Missouri which is either not expired or expired after the date of the most recent general election.

The State of Missouri issues free photo IDs for any resident who wants to vote. Interested voters should contact the Missouri Department of Revenue at one of the license offices throughout the state. A non-driver license will be provided at no charge to Missourians who wish to obtain a photo ID to vote.

The last day to register to vote in this election cycle is October 12. Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
