A Clean Sweep for KHS Singers at District Auditions

All 30 Kearney High School students who auditioned for the 2022 All-District Choir were selected during an event on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Missouri Western State University’s School of Fine Arts.

The process consists of a key signature identification and sight-reading portion before performing a solo piece for a panel of judges, according to KHS Choir Director Dustin McKinney.

“It was a successful day for all of our Bulldogs!” Mr. McKinney said. “Our performers continue to set the standard when it comes to vocal music. I’m proud of them for the hard work they put in, their high standards and the way they continually support each other.”

The students who were selected will perform a concert with all of the top singers in the region on Oct. 29 at Platte County High School. Juniors and seniors will audition for the All-State Choir on the same day.
