Smithville Police Officers are seeking any information that will help identify a suspect from an armed robbery on Saturday night.

At about 1 am Saturday, June 18, the suspect entered the Kum & Go gas station on South US 169 Highway, and allegedly produced a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect is a black male, approximately 5’10” tall with a stocky build.

Over the weekend, officers had conversations with employees from every gas station in Smithville about safety measures, police response, and making sure that surveillance video and cameras were in working order.

"We want to ensure that all employees, especially those working alone, know what to do in event such as what happened last night," Smithville Police posted on social media.
