Bulldogs Shutout Cardinals in Season Finale

The Bulldog Girls Soccer team played their last regular season home game against the Raytown South Cardinals on Thursday night, and brought home a 4–0 win.

It took less than two minutes for Senior Mia Adkins to send through a great pass to Sophomore Mila Kane for the first goal of the evening. After that, the Cardinals kept the pressure on the Bulldogs. It took 15 minutes after the first goal for Adkins to sink one in the back of the net. Then with 5 minutes left in the half, Junior Bella Donze shot a bullet past the Raytown keeper.

The second half the girls took the time to work the ball around the field.  Defenders, Seniors Emma Weightman and Morgan Miller, along with Juniors Moira Olberding and Jillian Bonderer made quick work of any challenges against the Kearney keeper, Alaina Lehman. With 9:38 left in the game, the Cardinals keeper came out of the box to challenge Mila Kane, but she was able to dance around the goalie and hit her second and last goal of the game.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a record of 8-10-1. They begin District play at Van Horn (15-6) on Saturday, May 14.
