Kearney Parks and Rec Begins Pickleball Leagues

The Kearney Parks and Recreation Department has added pickleball leagues to its line-up of spring youth sports.

The leagues play at the Kearney Pickleball Courts on East 19th Street, next to Kearney High School on Sunday afternoons. The Pickleball leagues will be split into three divisions by age, with 7-9U, 10-12U and 13-17U divisions playing at 1:30 pm, 3 pm, and 4:30 pm respectively.

For the first two weeks, there will be 45 minutes of instruction, and 45 minutes of playing. The last four weeks of the league will be tournament play.

All participants get a shirt and a ball. The Parks and Recreation Department will have paddles available to use, or participants may bring their own paddle. The leagues are limited to 18 participants per division, and teams will be assigned during the league.

To register, go to teamsideline.com/kearneymo. Registration cost is $40.00.
