Escapee Back in Custody

A man escaped police custody when he arrived at the Clay County Detention Center with a Missouri State Highway Patrolman on Friday night.

Daniel Mack escaped around 9:53 pm Friday and ran east on Mill Street toward Lightburne.

Mack is back in custody after he escaped the custody of a Missouri Highway Patrol trooper Friday night. Law Enforcement officers called off a coordinated search at 1:25 am, but overnight patrols remained in the area.

Mack was located by an off-duty officer later Saturday morning on Kansas Street near Ridge Street. When uniformed officers arrived on the scene he led them on a foot chase.

According to a Liberty Police announcement Mack was back in custody at 7:30 am Saturday. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said Mack was under arrest for a previous felony resisting arrest warrant.
