Bulky item pick-up begins Monday, October 17 in Kearney and runs through Thursday, October 20. Items will be picked up on the same day as residents’ regular trash collection through Republic Services.

Each house is limited to four square yards of bulky materials. Items not accepted include tires, yard waste, hazardous waste like paint, flammable materials and fluorescent light bulbs, bricks or concrete, and construction materials exceeding 4 feet by 4 feet, roofing materials, and railroad ties.

Wood will be picked up 4-foot bundles and weighing less than 40 pounds. Refrigerators will also be picked up, but must have refrigerants removed.

Residents are asked to place bulky items for removal at their curbs by 7:00am on their trash day. Trucks will not return to neighborhoods if items are placed late and missed.

Residents with larger areas of items can rent a dumpster through Republic Services by calling 816-254-1470.
