Wrestlers Earn Tournament Accolades and a Conference Championship

Senior night against Platte County. The Bulldogs emerged as the 2021/2022 conference champions with a 6-0 finish.

Senior Night against the Highway-92-rival, Platte County Pirates, began with 5 straight Bulldog pins. Kearney took the early lead and held on for a 51-27 win. With the victory over Platte County, the Bulldogs emerge as the 2021/2022 conference champions with a 6-0 finish.

Ryder Shelton, Ethan McMullen, Brennen Green, Blaine Turpin, Trenden Rogers, Eli Ashcroft, Daryn Langford, and Jak Gist won with pins and Jase Jackson won 4-1. Eli Ashcroft accomplished a coveted milestone in high school wrestling with 150 overall wins.

Meanwhile, the Varsity Boys wrestled in the 51st Winnetonka Invitational last Friday and Saturday. The event hosted 24 teams from 3 states. Friday matches set up the brackets for Saturday as 6 Kearney Bulldogs placed, giving the Bulldogs a 9th place overall finish in the team standings.

Kearney takes on Blue Springs on Thursday before heading to Liberty on Friday and Saturday to compete in the George Hoover Invite.
