“In a little more than a month, nearly 3,600 of our children will be coming to our schools, ready to pursue their hopes and dreams. For their sake, our top priority is to ensure that teaching and learning continue uninterrupted,” according to a statement on the Kearney School District website. “We must always be in a position to provide the world-class educational experience that every student needs and deserves.”

The school board announced that it will be appointing someone as Interim Superintendent until they can fill that position full time. In the meantime the search for a permanent superintendent will begin as soon as possible. The school board says it will be done in collaboration with staff, students, families and community members.

Dr. Miller began his duties as Superintendent at Kearney School District on July 1, 2020.
