Kearney School District Reorganizes Staff Assignments

The Kearney School District has announced additions and changes in the organizational system to improve services to students. A statement on the district website stated that the changes were made to meet and exceed the needs of students.

The announcement was made at the May 19 Board of Education meeting by Superintendent Matthew Miller. Miller announced additions as well as other changes that occurred earlier in the school year that will help make the district more efficient. The reorganization occurs at the district level, the school level and in special programs.

Miller also stated that because the district has decreased the number of staff by four positions, the cost-savings will be used to provide increased compensation for employees. During a Board of Education recap video, Miller announced the passage of next year’s budget as well as a 2% salary increase for staff.

“We’ve changed staff allocations to areas of high-need and reduced our overall staff,” Miller said. “This will allow us to improve our salary structure in order to recruit and retain high-quality team members.”

The changes in staff positions can be found on the district’s website. It includes names of staff that have been promoted or reassigned as well as descriptions of their new duties.
