Shelby Holst and Jadyn Barnes both scored 11 points, but that wasn’t enough to slow Smithville’s fourth quarter run in a nail-biter for the Class 5, District 16 Championship.

It was a classic matchup of 1-seed versus 2-seed. Senior, Shelby Holst hit 2 of 6 three-pointers on her way to scoring 11-points on the evening and led the team on defense with 5 rebounds. Senior, Kenzi Hoffman had 4 rebounds in a solid performance on defense.

Sophomore, Jadyn Barnes added to the totals with 11 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds. The final scoring had Jo Jo Kutch with 4 points and Gracie Bomar and Braelyn Rivera both scoring 2.

The loss gives Head Coach, Troy Resler and the Bulldog girls a second-place district finish, third-place conference finish, and a 9-13 overall record for the season.
