Businesses Hotspots for KSD Students

In an effort to help students who do not have internet access readily available, the Kearney School District announced that it is partnering with local businesses that are providing wireless hotspots to students.

The school district currently provides wireless access in the parking lots of Dogwood Elementary, Hawthorne Elementary, and Kearney High School. Now these local businesses and organizations are supporting students with additional locations for internet access in rural areas of the district:

 Betty’s Place, 4766 S East PP Hwy, Holt

 First United Methodist Church of Kearney, 1000 East, State Rte 92, Kearney

 Patriot Sports Club, 13207 North Home Road, Liberty

 Providence Baptist Church, 12206 North Stark Ave., Kansas City

Wi-Fi is accessible to students from the parking lot of each location, and more locations will be added in the future. Click here for a map of these current locations.

Access to the hotspot at each of these locations is only accessible with KSD’s student devices such as Chromebooks and iPads. The devices are specially set up to connect to school district specific Wi-Fi networks.
