KSD Announces Summer School Sessions

The Kearney School District has rolled information for summer school sessions for elementary, middle and high school students. The school district has also announced that transportation will be provided this summer.

Elementary Summer School

Incoming Kindergarten – Incoming 5th Grade: June 3rd-30th

Parents that are interested in before and after school child care during the month of June for summer school, can visit the KIDS’ CLUB page to enroll their student.

Middle School Enrichment

Junior Police Academy Incoming 6th – 8th Grade: June 21-25, 8:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.

The Kearney School District and the Kearney Police Department will host the Junior Police Academy. This will be for students going into 7th and 8th grades of the 2021-2022 school year. The academy will consist of daily physical training that includes a daily 1/2 mile run, push up and sit ups. Academy students will work on team building through various activities and apply those to building searches and traffic stops. Academy students will also learn firearms safety, handcuffing, K9 unit training, crime scene investigation, and the dangers of drugs.

High School Summer School Credit Recovery: June 3rd – 30th

Session 1 – 7:45 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.

Session 2 – 9:25 a.m. – 10:55 a.m.

Session 3 – 11:05 a.m. – 12:35 p.m.

Session 4 – 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

High School Courses for Credit – Various Core & Elective Courses Available: June 3rd – 30th

Session 1 – 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Session 2 – 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
