Wrestlers Advance to Sectionals; Swimmers Head to State

The Bulldog boys wrestling team hosted the Class 3 District 8 wrestling tournament last weekend. Eleven wrestlers came away as sectionals qualifiers as the team finished in 3rd place.

The following wrestlers earned medals:

106 Ethan McMullen: 2nd

113 Trenden Rogers: 3rd

120 Declan Cockrum: 4th

132 Eli Ashcroft: Champion

138 Jadon Freestone: 3rd

145 Garrett Deason: 2nd

152 Ben Locke: Champion

160 Will Locke: 4th

170 Daryn Langford: 3rd

195 Jon Alden: 4th

220 Zach Olson: Champion

These 11 Bulldogs will compete at Sectionals on Saturday, February 27th at Belton High School.

The Kearney girl’s swim team will be traveling to the Class 1 state championship this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.

The following swimmers will be representing Kearney at the state finals: Claire Woehrman, Jillian Bonderer, Andi Kreiling, Carlee Clawson, Julia Bolton, and Tori Tarr.
