Bulldog Varsity Girls Basketball Victorious Over Raytown South

The Kearney Bulldog Varsity Girls Basketball Team defeated Raytown South at home on Monday night 34-25.

Both teams fought hard and Kearney held a 6 point lead through the first two quarters. Kearney had fallen behind by 3 at the end of the third quarter when Shelby Holst hit a deep three pointer which started a 4th quarter Bulldog rally which was the Price Chopper Play of the Game.

Kenzi Hoffman walked away with a team high 12 points, connecting on 2 three point field goals. Hoffman also led the team with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Shelby Holst hit 2 three pointers and finished with 8 points on the evening. Braelyn Rivera was strong under the basket defensively pulling down 6 rebounds.

The win brings the girls varsity's record to 6-10 and 4-2 in conference play.

The girls basketball team will be in action at Platte County on Thursday with the JV game starting at 5:30pm and the Varsity contest beginning at 7:00pm.
