The Kearney School District Board of Education approved Alli Baldwin for the 2020-2021 head girls swim coach position. Baldwin is an educator and an athlete with a background in swimming. This combination makes her an excellent addition to the team.

With eight years of teaching experience, she is passionate about impacting the youth of the community in a positive way. She recently accepted a position with the school district as an English teacher at Kearney Junior High School. She is also currently coaching her third year of club swimming for Tsunami Swim Team. Baldwin also has previous coaching experience in middle school cross country and track. Her main goal as a coach is to establish a strong foundation, while helping youth find their place in sport, and cultivating a positive environment for all swimmers through a growth mindset.

After years of experience as a club swimmer and summer conference swimmer, Baldwin began a career in coaching the sport in 2018. She is also a decorated triathlete and is nationally ranked. Since 2017, she has had 10 podium finishes, including a first place overall finish in her first Super Sprint Triathlon.

“I look forward to creating a championship culture where swimmers are excited to develop and reflect grit, resiliency, character, positive relationships, and passion through sport,” Baldwin stated. “I can’t wait to meet the swimmers and become a part of the Kearney family!”

Baldwin attended William Jewell College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, a minor in Nonprofit Leadership, and honors in American Humanics. This summer she will complete her graduate degree from the University of Missouri with a Master of Education in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in positive coaching and athletic leadership.

Baldwin will start her new role at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.
