The Kearney Food Pantry has seen a 50% increase of families in need since February

The first is in cooperation with Nuts and Bolts Hardware. Nuts and Bolts is hosting a donation drive on Saturday, Aug. 8th called Stuff the Truck. Donors can drop off canned and boxed goods, as well as personal hygiene and cleaning items, at a designated truck in the Price Chopper parking lot. The event runs from 8:00am – 4:00pm. A needs list can be found here.

The second way people can get involved is through a matching campaign fund which runs through September 1st . Two generous couples have offered $35,000 in matching funds to go to the Kearney Food Pantry. All donations to the food pantry will be doubled by these donors.

People can give financially to the Kearney Food Pantry by mailing their donation to 113 E. Washington St., Kearney, MO 64060. Donations can be taken electronically through the food pantry’s website.

The Kearney Food Pantry has seen an increase of 50% more families since February, 2020. They also feed kids through the pantries at the High School and the Jr. High schools. The food pantry also distributed 2,207 food bags to Pre-K through 5th grade this past school year.
