Kearney Resident Involved in Stolen RV Crash

Clinton County Deputies were dispatched at about 8:45am on Saturday, July 18th, in regard to a hit and run accident. The vehicle description, which was that of a stolen RV, was relayed to Deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers by observant citizens.

Troopers located the stolen RV and a pursuit ensued.

The driver of the RV, Dustin Leach, 36, of Kearney, attempted to improperly pass a car on PP Highway between Shoshone Drive and I-35 in Holt, but side-swiped a vehicle. The RV then rolled over.

Holt Community Fire Protection District responded and was assisted by the Kearney Area Fire and Rescue Protection District in a lengthy extrication.

Sierra Coleman, 18, of Cameron, was driving the other vehicle. She and her baby were injured in the crash. They were taken to Liberty Hospital where they were treated and released.

Leach received moderate injuries in the accident. He is also now facing charges which include Felony Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, Felony Resisting Arrest, Felony 4th Offense of Driving While Revoked, Felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and other misdemeanor drug and traffic offenses.
