“Through a collaborative planning process, stakeholders throughout our community have contributed hours of thought and effort in creating this plan, Miller said. “Through the work of the Reentry Task Force, the Ad Hoc Committee on Health and Safety, the administrative team, professional organizations, and in collaboration with public health experts, this plan has been designed to recognize the health and safety needs of students and staff, while providing the learning experiences critical to the pursuit of excellence for tomorrow.”

The letter went on to say that life will continue to look different in August 2020 than last August, and so will school. Physical distancing and masks, for example, are practices that will be different in the schools. Even traditional back to school events like open house will be conducted virtually. Despite differences, the district will not change the care and concern for the children. The challenge is to take the differences and utilize them to continue to improve learning experiences for students. The district plans to work together to take the adversity presented to them and learn to be more resilient, empathetic, and flexible.

The complete plan details can be found on the district website.
