In the letter, Dr. Miller explained that safety guidelines have been implemented to ensure students will be able to learn in a safe and healthy environment. “Safely returning all students and staff to school is important to all of us.” Dr. Miller wrote.

The letter also stated that the school district would be releasing a first plan draft by July 17th. The draft will include safety precautions for in-person instruction as well as guidelines for an online option. In the letter Dr. Miller also announced that the July 17th draft will include a survey that will ask for comments and feedback to help redefine the plan.

Dr. Miller concluded the letter by praising Kearney School District staff and the community for working together during the school closure this spring. “This teamwork will be critical to our successful return to school, a return which will provide new learning experiences for us all,” he stated. “We have a great opportunity ahead of us.”
