On June 1st, Clay County entered phase 2 of reopening which allows for gatherings of up to 50 people, compared to the previous limit of 10. Phase 2 also states that organized sports are allowed to return with certain restrictions in place. Clay County said the target date to return to full contact practice is June 22nd, with the target date for a return of actual games set for July 24th.

As it currently stands, youth sports are allowed to have individual or controlled small group training, controlled clinics and camps, and controlled practices.

Kearney Bulldogs Head Football Coach, Josh Gray said, "We are not allowed to start workouts until June 15th with restrictions and then we will start camp and weight room activities June 22nd. All activities are with guidelines."

It appears there is a good chance for not only football, but all fall sports to be played as scheduled if things go according to plan. Missouri State High School Activities Association sent a statement in April saying that they will follow CDC guidelines as they look into starting up fall sports.
