Shortly after moving to Kearney, Missouri in 2016, 102.7FM - KPGZ began broadcasting newscasts in an effort to better serve the community. Since that time, the news department has slowly expanded to provide hourly newscasts as well as in depth sports and weather coverage.

In 2017, the station expanded it’s broadcast coverage with the addition of the Bulldog Radio Network, which features live play by play coverage of Bulldog Football and Basketball games. The Bulldog Radio Network also features the very popular “Coach Gray Show” with Kearney Head Football Coach, Josh Gray.

Following numerous requests for a better source for more local, pinpoint-driven news, KPGZ announced in June of 2020 that it was adding additional local news stories and features to its website, providing viewer-listeners more “hyper-local” hometown news.

On June 29th, KPGZ news released its latest news feature which is a weekly video news recap. This weekly broadcast is done in a TV news format and can be found on the station’s website as well as its Facebook page, YouTube Channel and other social media outlets.

“I’m so excited that we have now added video news to the services that we provide the community,” Said KPGZ General Manager Brian Watts. “It’s amazing to think about how far we have come in 2 1/2 years. We started out as a little known radio station, and now I feel we are a leader in the community.”
