Major league stadiums may remain empty in 2020

Major league stadiums may remain empty in 2020

The chance of a Major League Baseball season in 2020 decreased substantially on Monday when another offer to play was rejected. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said he is “not confident” a season will get played. This statement comes less than a week after Manfred’s “one-hundred-percent guarantee” we would have a season this year, leaving baseball fans and players even more frustrated .

In addition to Manfred’s comments, 6 MLB owners have said they don’t want to play the 2020 season. For the moment, this makes the 2020 season chances look dim, however players have gone to social media stating “when and where” as a message they are ready to just play. Ultimately the owners and commissioner have the final say whether a season happens. As it stands now baseball’s return remains uncertain.
