Clay County Detective Recognized for Achievements

Detective Childers was recognized for his work in several Metro Squad Investigations in 2019.

At a recent awards ceremony, a Clay County Detective, who is assigned to the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, was recognized for his work in several Metro Squad Investigations last year.

In 2019, Detective Childers assisted the Metro Squad with a shooting investigation and was able to ping the suspect's cell phone, placing him at the scene during the shooting. He also used data from a ‘hot spot’ to identify two accomplices involved in the crime.

Detective Childers is also responsible for several investigations and arrests for possession of child pornography across our region.
